While the History Channel was nostalgically remembering the '60s via Woodstock's 40th anniversary all weekend, a whole different side of the decade was portrayed on AMC Sunday. Mad Men is back and Jon Hamm, at right, with it. I've
missed his handsome face. The third season opener was delicious and though we won't know how it fared ratings-wise for a few days Mad Men could not be more welcome. The first episode hints at a theme for the season that is perfect for
our tumultuous times. It's all about change and how people cope. (There was even a firing that resulted in the ex-employee's tantrum.) The
new Brit bosses at Sterling Cooper are shaking things up, folks all
over the office are covering things up, the business world is changing, and there are consequences for bad behavior. Can't wait to see how it all plays out. Meanwhile, the Emmys are just a month away and Mad Men is up for several awards, casting and costumes among them. Hamm could even win a second statue. Don Draper would toast to that — in the office before 5 o'clock, to be sure.
