Craigslist is more than just a place to sell your used couch. Anybody who’s ever poked around on the site has probably seen some of the wild and crazy ads people post, and Craigslist TV is bringing them to life. Opt-in buttons on postings allow people to let Brownstone Entertainment documentary filmmakers peruse the real ads — 1,000 a day at times — and they find real people to follow with cameras and document their journeys for a web series. The first season this past spring captured one man’s goal to dress Sandra Bullock for her awards season, a woman’s “open casting call” for a husband, another woman’s mission to form the most awesome ‘80s cover band ever, and a guy who hires his services as, yes, a ninja for hire. The second season begins Thursday, with a new episode each week, and it looks even more entertaining than the first. Among upcoming subjects: costumed superheroes uniting for a protest after getting kick off Hollywood Boulevard; a woman who give aways her accordion through a one-night “Accordion Idol” competition; and a daredevil in search of a female fire-breather to light him in flames for his next motorcycle stunt. Check out this exclusive sneak peek at the new season of Craigslist TV beginning Thursday.
