Q: Whose voice is that in the Dodge Ram commercials? Is it Sam Elliott?

Good ear! That’s indeed Elliott, he of the deep, deep voice and the many Western roles in his 40-year career in Hollywood. People have found many ways to use that famous drawl of his: Elliott — who has been married to actress Katherine Ross since 1984 — narrated the Coen brothers’ cult movie The Big Lebowski, did a voice-over for Super Bowl XLV in February and spent a couple of years as the voice of fire-prevention icon Smokey Bear.

    Regarding the wonderful, deep voice with the commercials for Dodge Ram, I have also been wondering who it is….. I had wondered if it possibly would be the African-American homeless man someone “discovered” with the voice like velvet and they had trained him to do the commercials…..?
