Q: I miss In Plain Sight. Is it returning?

McCormack keeps secrets.

Anne Dixon, Southold, N.Y.

The USA Network drama just returned for its fifth and final season with Mary McCormack starring as a deputy U.S. Marshal attached to the federal Witness Protection Program. Before McCormack was cast, the only knowledge she had about the program was the end of Goodfellas, when Ray Liotta’s gangster character disappears after testifying against his pals. “That’s how it works. There are tons of people all over America who have started over,” she says. “Our adviser is with us with permission from Witness Protection. It’s an incredibly secret program. When he retired, he was the head of the L.A. Bureau of Witness Protection for 25 years. His family didn’t know what he did until his retirement.”
