The singer, born Brenda Gail Webb in Paintsville, Ky., is still performing and still sporting her long brunette mane. The youngest of eight children (and the only one to be born in a hospital), Gayle, 61, was a shy child who found inspiration in the career of her big sister, Loretta Lynn, now 80. Gayle’s current tour takes the Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue singer from North Carolina to Las Vegas, with a stop in Branson, Mo., in between. When she’s not on the road, the Grammy Award winner makes her home in Nashville.
