Wrestler A.J. Lee likes drama.
Bernard Levine, Yonkers, N.Y.
At just 25, the New Jersey native has become one of the most popular pro wrestlers around, but she likes the dramatic angles as well as the physical in-ring work: After being “fired” from her role as general manager on Raw (airing Monday nights on USA Network), Lee then became immersed in a soap-opera story line with fellow WWE star John Cena. And that’s after almost getting “married” earlier this year! That kind of relationship drama “is what got me emotionally involved” as a fan, says Lee, who was only 12 when she told her mom she wanted to be a wrestler. “I didn’t have a lot of opportunities growing up and I had a pretty hard childhood, and this company and wrestling in general was the one bright light in my life.”
