Q: Was a third National Treasure film ever made with Nicolas Cage?

Nicolas CageDenny Ayers, Roaring Spring, Pa.

Not yet, but there’s a lot more U.S. history to be mined for new adventures with Cage’s cryptologist Benjamin Franklin Gates. The first National Treasure in 2004 featured Gates decoding a map on the back of the Declaration of Independence. The 2007 sequel sent him off to clear his ancestor’s name of involvement in the Lincoln assassination. A third movie is in development. In the meantime, Cage stars in two movies in 2013 — the animated caveman flick The Croods and the thriller The Frozen Ground, also starring John Cusack. And you can catch Cage’s National Treasure co-star, Justin Bartha, in the NBC sitcom The New Normal.
