NOBLE
Because the cult sci-fi Fox series Fringe ends on Friday, John Noble finds himself coming to grips with finishing his stint playing eccentric scientist Walter Bishop, a man who is at his best “when his neurons are going a million miles an hour and there are no barriers or boundaries,” says the Australian actor, 64. Still, he’s not sad about leaving the show behind. To him, it has been “this great big saga that had a beginning, middle and an end, which will put it in the annals of science fiction as one of the greats.”

Having four brothers toughened Alexander up.
“I prefer to be rough around the edges. I don’t think I would be a very good girlie girl,” says Jaimie Alexander, 28, who stars with Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Last Stand, in theaters Friday. Her penchant for action roles was helped by growing up with four brothers in Texas: “I have a tough exterior, but I’m still very much a woman and vulnerable. I’m well-balanced like that.”
