Keith Urban remembers the critiques he got on Australian singing-competition shows of his youth as a new judge on Fox’s American Idol. “I know what it feels like to be harshly judged in front of millions of people watching. I also know the importance of someone genuinely helping,” says the country star, 45. His goal is to “be specific” with advice but “not to crush anyone’s spirits.”

If anybody can turn a zombie into a romantic hero, it’s Nicholas Hoult, 23, who stars as a member of the undead in the horror comedy Warm Bodies, out Friday. But zombie couture isn’t his thing. “I enjoy putting on a suit and looking James Bondish,” says Hoult, boyfriend to actress Jennifer Lawrence. “My Warm Bodies clothes have holes everywhere. Maybe they’ll become (this) year’s Halloween costume.”
