Ubach is juggling a lot these days.
“If I were 5-foot-10, I’d be way too overwhelming to people,” says actress Alanna Ubach, 37. “Thank goodness I’m just 5-2.” She isn’t short on roles, though, playing a mom opposite Scott Baio on Nick at Night’s See Dad Run and a widow who propositions David Duchovny in Californication. “I tend to be a little more conservative than my characters,” she says. She describes her role model, however, as “a clown juggling chain saws standing on a tiger. That’s something you’re going to pay attention to.”
MONAGHAN
Dominic Monaghan, 36, never met a creature he didn’t like. Now the Lost alum has parlayed his curiosity and enthusiasm into the BBC America travel-adventure series Wild Things With Dominic Monaghan. “I was always the kid in the garden tipping over rocks and feeding spiders,” he says. “I’m not afraid of any animal, although I’m not stupid. If I was swimming in the ocean and saw a shark or in an Indian forest and saw a tiger, I’d be scared.”
